MEET
JONATHAN RICHEY
Judge Jonathan H. Richey is a lifelong East Texan, constitutional conservative, and career prosecutor with more than 15 years of courtroom experience holding criminals accountable and protecting public safety.
Raised in East Texas and now raising his family in Rusk, Jonathan believes judges must enforce the law as written, respect the Constitution, and reject judicial activism. His record reflects a firm commitment to law and order, victims’ rights, and equal justice under the law.
Jonathan has served at every level of prosecution: Assistant County Attorney, Assistant District Attorney, First Assistant District Attorney, and elected Cherokee County District Attorney - personally handling cases from intake through jury trial and appeal. His work has consistently prioritized community safety and accountability.
In recognition of his experience, integrity, and conservative judicial philosophy, Governor Greg Abbott appointed Jonathan Richey as Judge of the 369th Judicial District Court in December 2025.
